Cockatoo cracks lock with no prior training

NEED a locksmith? Call a cockatoo instead. One parrot in an experiment has proved capable of picking a series of locks with no prior training. The birds had to remove a pin, then a screw and a bolt, before turning a wheel to release a latch and reach a snack (see a video at bit.ly/Lockpicker). Five birds were successful after some guidance, or with practice, but one broke in unassisted in less than 2 hours.
